Hey Mike, any update on the 6.0L chip?
Hi Bikenut,
Oh yes indeed, the 6.0 PSD is already being worked on & has been for some time, as the Ford Powerstroke diesel is one of, if not *the* #1 priority application each model year, and has been for some years now.
As you know, the 6.0 has so many new aspects to it, a brand new PCM, a new 5-speed automatic transmission, and a new 6.0 PSD motor with a significantly changed fuel system, using much higher pressures, etc. This is a platform that is taking a lot of R&D; it's not just being able to modify the code, that's already been cracked awhile back. The issue is doing all the testing to make sure EGT's stay in line towing at full capacity at full-throttle up a 10K mountain in Colorado, that the transmission works correctly, etc. It's so much more than just modifying the program for more power, that has to be done *safely*, and while allowing the vehicle to do everything it was originally designed to do.
The second it's ready or near-ready, you can count on us making an announcement here in a new thread!
