Micro tuner?
Micro tuner?
Hi Mike
I just recently bought a 2002 Harley pickup. I installed the micro tuner program and did not pull the neg ground. Should I reset the computer or is it ok? Also why can't a #4 pulley be used. Can you not make a tuner to handle a pulley up grade? Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi Jim,
The tuning in the F-150 Micro Tuner is NOT compatible with major mods, it was not designed to be and never will be. The Micro Tuner CANNOT be used with ANY supercharger overdrive pulley in the Lightning & Harley models, period. Using higher boost pulleys on a supercharged 5.4 in a Lightning or a Harley *requires* significant custom engine tuning to compensate for and allow the PCM to operate with the *vastly* increased loads caused by any such pulley properly, thus the Micro Tuner cannot be used.
If you attempt to do that, you can count on several things: detonation, engine damage, the PCM will *not* be able to handle the load properly, etc.
If you want to raise boost in a Lightning or a Harley, you *have* to use the traditional Superchip module for proper tuning, you cannot use the F-150 Micro Tuner. And, you should use the 2-program Superchip Flip Chip instead of the single program Superchip, for proper protection of the engine.
The vast majority of Lightning & Harley owners use the 2--program Superchip Flip Chip as that is the most appropriate product for that vehicle if anything more than an intake kit or a cat-back exhaust is going to be done.
In short, the Micro Tuner is for stock to lightly modified vehicles, it was not designed or intended for use in modified applications in the F-150 platform.
