Chip V's Programmer
It has been suggested, by a certain Superchip dealer that I change from a modified Superchip to a Programmer to tune my truck.
I am supercharged at 12psi, 42# injectors, 90mm MAF, etc, etc.
I am under the impression that the Programmer is only for tweaking the tune on a basically stock engine.
Will it work for me?

I wouldn't think so. The programmer is basically for a stock truck. If you have anything more radical, like a supercharger, MAF, headers, etc.... Then a custom tuned chip is the only way to go.

I had already typed out a response to this, I must have hit a mis-stroke on my keyboard and sent it into the netherworld.
This is an excellent example of why people come to us for correct information, being America's oldest Superchips WD we know these products better than almost anybody, not counting a couple of the engineers at Superchips.
The F-150 Micro Tuner **cannot** be used for custom engine tuning, and any dealer should know that all too well.
The Micro Tuner for the F-150 can be used with mods like an intake, a cat-back exhaust, underdrive pulleys & electric fans, those kinds of mods will be OK with the programs in the F-150 Micro Tuner. But things like a supercharger, different injectors, etc., cannot be tuned for in the Micro Tuner, that has to be done in the traditional Superchip module.
Now it *is* true that we do offer custom engine tuning for a lot of the 1996 & newer GM vehicles in vehicle-specific versions of our GM Micro Tuners, and this is simply because the design of the GM PCM's *requries* this type of device to flash the PCM. But in the Fords, they still have the J3 connector so it's never been required, the Micro Tuner was released for the F-150 simply because long-term, Ford will be doing away with the J3 connector and we need to be prepared.
In time, we will eventually offer vehicle-specific versions of the Micro Tuner for various Fords that we *will* offer custom engine tuning in, but that time isn't now, and won't be soon.
The only way to get Superchips tuning for your combination is to use the traditional Superchip module, and I'd highly recommend using the 2-program Flip Chip so you'll have 2 different programs, thus allowing proper cold weather & warm weather tuning to achieve maximum power all year long without detonation, which will also give you a proper combination of both a full performance program & a more conservative setup too, both available at the flip of the switch.
If you are already properly tuned in a custom Superchip then you don't need to change anything. If you still need to be tuned properly we can provide the tuning you need of course, that's not a problem, just give us a call at our number listed below.

You have confirmed what I already believed to be true. Unfortunately, I must now deal with your competitor. You may rest assured that I will not mention you specifically by name.
Incidentally, I purchased this chip last July and used it for one day before I returned it because it was missing the requested speedometer correction. They have had it ever since and I have now requested a reburn for the extensive modifications I have added. It was at this point that they came up with the Programmer suggestion.
Go figure!!!
