performance chip
little help
I've recently prchased a 02 roush F150 Supercrew. The dealer said the roush packaged included cold air intake, tuned stainless exhaust, performance shocks,18"wheels and some cosmetic stuff(interior, front bumper, etc.)The truck is great but I was thinking about a chip. Does anyone know if I would order the same chip as a stock 5.4L truck

Hi 02,
Welcome to F-150 Online!
Your current performance modifications, as far as the engine tuning is concerned, are basically your intake kit and the cat-back exhaust system, and you do not need any custom engine tuning for those modifications.
For your needs, I would use our Superchips Micro Tuner, as that will give you the performance tuning you want for more horsepower and torque as well as give you the abilty to correct your speedometer for any change from the original factory tire size and/or gear ratio, and allow you to set your own full-throttle upshift points (if you desire) for each gear change individually (1-2, 2-3 & 3-4). The Micro Tuner will remove the top speed limiter and you can also adjust the amount of shift firmness for each gear change, and the Micro Tuner also has a built-in OBD-II code scanner, too.
If you were going to be doing additional modifications that are more involved and hence affect engine tuning, like a blower, nitrous, ported heads, MAF, bigger fuel injectors, etc., then you wouuld need to use our traditional Superchip module for the custom engine tuning that would be required to compensate for those kinds of mods, but for mods like intake kits, exhaust system changes, converting to electric fans & underdrive pulleys, the Micro Tuner is the best choice thanks to it's easier installation & many additional features, etc.
If you'd like to go over any of this in more detail, give us a shout & we'll be happy to, our phone number is listed just below.
Sounds like you've got a very nice truck there, congratulations! We hope you'll hang out here on F-150 Online with us in your spare time, it's a great place to learn more about these vehicles & even make some new friends.

Thanks for the reply Mike. I was thinking that the microtuner is what I wanted just from reading here on the website. I will be giving you a ring probably around tax refund time. The setback from the Roush F150 was pretty substantial!
Hi 02,

Yes, I'm sure it was, those Roush trucks generally cost a pretty penny! We'll be happy to help you anytime, of course.
Have fun!
