Am I missing something here Mike?

Ok, I have decided that when I get new wheels and tires, I think my best bet is to go with the Micro Tuner by Super Chips.

(2000 5.4L F-150 4x4 supercab by the way)

When checking out the price at www.TroyerPerformance.com, I noticed that they are $325 plus shipping, however, at http://www.portaproducts.com/superchips/microtuner.html they are $265. Are these the same product? If not, what makes the one at www.TroyerPerformance.com a better buy?

I am not trying to make a big deal over $60, just trying to make the most logical decision for my money.

Service

Scott,

Let me just say you get what you pay for. Read my post a page or two over titled "Emergency Help". I got a Tuner for X-mas. I gave my wife Mike's number and told her to order it from him. Well being the frugal person she can be she shopped pirice and found it for $20 cheaper. Well when I had an issue, there was no one to turn to for advice or support. Superchips was closed for the holidays and I've had to deal with them on my own regarding reimbursement for my repair bill.

Just remember the old adage is true.........you get what you pay for. Go with Mike, he is the most knowledgeable individual I've talked to regarding our trucks. He will be there above and beyond for any service related issues. Even though he didn't sell me my tuner he offered to help me anyway he could.

Good Luck , I think you'll enjoy your Tuner

John

John,
I have kind of gotten that already in reading only a few posts. It seems that Mike has quite a following here on the board.

Hi Spingleton,

By now you've already seen the discrepancy pointed out by some of the other responses.

Just so you'll know for future reference in general, we do not discuss specific parts pricing here, that is against the vendor rules of F-150 Online, so anytime someone wants to discuss specific pricing with us, that needs to be done privately, off the message boards. Just FYI.......

We do have a "following," so to speak, simply because we work very hard taking care of our customers & we know these vehicles pretty well. We've specialized in improving the performance of the F-150 platform for a long time, and can take these vehicles literally as far as any owner wants to go. Most F-150 owners just want more power & performance and if possible, better fuel mileage for the "normal" daily driver & occasional tow vehicle types of use, the classic pickup truck purposes in other words. And then some others actually do race them in different areas, drag racing, offroad, etc. We serve them all.

If we can help you in any way, give us a shout & we'll be happy to. Our contact info, etc., is below if we can be of assistance.

Good luck with your truck,

Larry,

My PCM failed during installation of the Superchips program. I had a $620 repair bill, which Superchips has covered and should be receiving my check shortly.

I sent my PCM (stock Computer) to them and they tested it andwere unable to recover it. They claimed responsibility since it failed during the installation of their product.

They stood behind their product and made it right. You can't ask for more than that. I have since reinstalled the Microtuner on my new PCNM and it's everything I've heard it was.
