StreetPerformance Chip w/ YBQ2 computer
First Off...Great WEbsite!! After reading several articles on this website I went to my local truck accessory center and asked to get a superchip. I have a '99 single cab 4.6L f-150 with a Flowmaster catback and MAC "cold" air. This local company started hooking up the chip and later told me it would not work in my truck because my truck's computer number is YBQ2. I asked to examine the chip and realized the chip said "street Performance" and not superchip on it. I asked them about this and they claimed its all the same. Not what I expected. So heres my question?
If I order a chip through say "Performance Products" on this website at https://www.f150online.com/scpp/ will it also reject my computer? I want a chip very bad.
But now I have fear if I order one it will not work in my truck!!
Excited,confused & anxiously waiting.

JAWZ-
I suspect Mike T. (Perf. Prod.) will chime in shortly. You might want to give him a call first thing in the morning to do a little "shop talk". Mike will help straighten things out for you. Good luck...

Hi JAWZF150,
If it didn't say "Superchips" on the actual module, then it's not a Superchip. Period.
There is *nothing* wrong with your computer code of YBQ2, we have literally hundreds, if not thousands of YBQ2's out there running the Superchip. In fact, that's one of the earliest codes for a 1999 model year F-150 with a 4.6 automatic, there are a good number of those out there.
I'd suggest you give *us* a call on this to go over this with you properly, so you'll get the correct information *and* the correct product with the best powertrain program.
Our contact info is below, & I have a hunch I know what they were probably talking about, give us a call & I can go over all of that with you & explain it to you *correctly.* We can also go over the other Superchips product that will work on your truck, the newer Superchips Micro Tuner, which will install in only 8 minutes by connecting it to a port in your cabin & your pressing a few buttons!
You *can* get the Superchips tuning for your vehicle, and right away, too! Give us a call & we can get that taken care of for you right away, & answer all your questions, etc., we'll be happy to help you with this so you can enjoy the Superchips performance!
Talk to you soon,

ok
Thanks for the info.
Just so everyone knows what happened , the chip they were trying to install was setting off the stock Ford security system and not allowing the engine to be turned over. I am anxious to hear about the other products and your solution for this problem.

We can also do a custom setup as well. Using the Diablo delta series blank and our own tune. Just another option to superchip. And as Mike said if it does not say superchip on it; it is not a superchip. I have several chips pulled out of truck that are now running our chip that are of superchip design but not of superchip quality.
