Cliffnotes: LEDF150 responds to my 5.4L motor ad. Negoitates a price and method of payment. He pays for the motor. Next day wants his money back cause Daddy want let him have it. In the meantime, I've spent some of the money and turned away another buyer, because it was already SOLD! He agrees to me finding a new buyer before I refund any money and he offers $100-200 for my trouble. Now, he has filed a dispute with his credit card company claiming the item was not as described. Now PayPal is going to hit me with a chargeback fee.

Here's a pic of the motor when it came out of my truck:




Think of it like a crate motor. All the things you would need for a crate motor, you're going to need for this motor.

I'll have to check with a freight company tomorrow for a shipping qoute, but I think it should be about $400 for the shipping. It cost me $500 to ship a motor from California to Alabama, so from here to Ohio should be a lot less.

Great! Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, Monday will be the soonest I can arrange for a truck. So if I call Monday, a truck comes on Tuesday, you will have the motor on Friday. I send you the tracking info when I get it.

Well, this is a screwed up situation we have here.

I've already spent a good portion of the money, so in order for me to refund anything, it would have to come off my credit card. That would cost me. Not to mention, I turned another buyer

you are online everyday, so why wouldn't you just respond? You never told me anything other than the fact that you don't have the money. I can call Amex and have them stop the inquiry. I'm not sure
why you would rather hire a lawyer than just let me know what's going on. You have my phone number. You could've called me anytime to discuss this. I can call my attorney after work if that's what
you want to do. I would much rather just talk about it like a reasonable person.

I would charge him a 30 percent restocking fee and put the engine back on the market.It will sell again and you will have made some extra money.

 

Just a heads up, the mods don't like the posting of "personal communications". I had a bad experience and tried to post about it and most of my post got deleted because I posted the e-mails between myself and the buyer.

Id send that to paypal and the cc company and dispute the dispute. Saying that he backed out of the sale.

 

I have. According to PayPal, he told American Express the merchandise wasn't as described, hence my remark about fraud. PayPal is going to forward all of his PM's on to American Express. Wonder what they are going to say?

 

How do you say item isn't described if he never even got it? I agree with the fraud.
