new truck/paint

My new truck is being built the week of Nov. 11th and I should have it soon after.
How long should I wait before I can wax it?
A friend said I should wait at least 60 days but I wanted to get other opinions also.

Hi Zjr

Congrats. on new ride.

Can be long tech. replies on most anything one asks....so....

Seems to me most vehicles nowadays come with a clear coat. Just use whats recommended for that. Wait 60 days..you could do that...but do you really have to wait that long. I dont think so but JMO Ask your dealer what Ford recommends.

Good luck...OT

Factory coats are baked at the factory (Since the paint actually has to be heated to cure). After baking the paints are fully cured within 48 hours.

It'll be older than that by the time you get it. Wax away!
