Wax

Anyone have a good preference for an off the shelf wax. One that is long lasting? I've tried the Gold Class as well, and it looks great, but doesn't last very long. I used to use Mirror Glaze #9 and #26 I believe on my previous cars with decent results, but again not vey long lasting.

My truck stays outside all the time and am looking for a long lasting product, that I can go to a local Autozone, Pep Boys, or Walmart and buy.

Thanks for any assistance.

John

I used Nu Finish Polish on my moms van over a year ago. The thing still beads up when it rains and shines really well when i wash it. That stuff works great. I use Liquid Glass and Gold class on my F150 and my restored 53 chevy, that really protects it. Since that stuff is really expensive, i use stuff like Nu Finish and Meguaiars Carnuba wax on my moms van and dads car. both work great and protect for quite a while. You can get all this stuff at Autozone.

It would be better just to spend the money and order a good wax online.

I'd go with Pro's Profection. It is easy to use and you don't use a lot and it lasts awhile. Suppose to last 6 months. I'm testing that out right now and so far it is working great. I've had it on my hood for about 1month and 1/2 and it is still beading. Put it on the rest of my truck about 2 weeks ago. It really looks good.

One quart of the stuff would probably last you pretty much forever even if you're taking care of 2 or 3 large vehicles.

This is the same polymer that is in their Satin Creme and it lasted around 4 months. It isn't a pure polymer though so I'm sure the Profection will last 6 months.

Another one is Klasse Sealant Glaze but it is difficult to apply. If you want to mess w/ it, go ahead as it produces a great shine!

Liquid Glass is also pretty good. Great shine vs. amount of work but it lacks durability. Probably only lasts for a few months.

I have been using Meguiar's High Tech Yellow Wax and then keeping it up with the Quik Wax and think it is pretty durable. I have considered trying either the Cherry Wet Wax or the Zaino's.

You can't go wrong with either CWW or Zaino, but CWW is easier and the price is right. Both Rick Coats who sells CWW and Sal Zaino are great guys.

Lariat Ryder, let me know what you think after using CWW and other products. As for using CWW over LG,I think it would work.Maybe someone else could give you a better response. You could also talk to Rick Coats at Coats Products.I am sure he could guide you on this issue.Good Luck.

Something availible locally would be Meguiars #20. It is a polymere sealant similar to Zaino and Klasse. Dawn, clay, Meg #9 2.0 for the swirls, and finish with Meg #20.

If you can live with a quick wax every other month, I recommend stopping by your local Harley Davidson dealer and getting some S100 wax. I thought I was satisfied with Zaino until I tried S100.
