Cats
What the he!! is a "Slack jawed yokel". I did mention that it was an alley cat didn't I. No sign of him last night, to much rain. Might need to call Steve Erwin in.
So I take it then Cheebmonkey is a Slack jawed yokel since the rest of us are smart enough not to let some stupid wild animal screw with our trucks...
Trust me there is NO cat worth some $20,000 plus.
However, prior to the pellet gun I did take 3 cats to death row. I had a 79 Z-28 Camaro, had a built 400 small block (approx. 400hp) had a custom paint job (approx. $3,000). Anyway I lived in Navy housing at the time and the lady next door "had" 3 cats that she never kept in the house (where they belong) anyway they always seemed to love the hood of my Camaro (NOT a good thing).
I told the lady on 5, yes 5 different occausions that she needed to do something with her cats because they are always on my car and I don't want to see it get scratched. She must have been some animals rights wacko because she tried to tell me cats belong outside because they are wild and that they have a right to go where they please. I am like WTF, when did cats, or animals get to geather and write their own "Bill of Rights"
Well one morning I go out and sure as hell there are scratches (Cat claws) on my hood. I am pissed off beyond belief. I go and by one of those animal cages and that night with "treats" I get the cats into the cage. Took them to the pound and 3 days later they are all in kitty heaven...
A few days later the wacko that thinks cats and other animals can actually write and think they have some kind of rights ask if I had seen her little babys (the cats) I said uhhmmmmm No I don't believe I have seen them today. Hey it wasn't lying since I had not seen them in 2-3 days when I took them to kitty death row.
So you see my way (pellet) gun is much, much less cruel then death row...
it only stings them for a little bit anyway

I'm from OK, but when we go to Colorado in the high elevation, the marments are really bad about eating everything but metal. So moth ***** and peper keeps them away from the vehicle so they wont eat all the wireing and insulation underneith. Also, they tend to like atv seats,
Slack jawed yokels...
A perplexing, yet inviting, game of name calling has begun however, I believe that I'm going to sit on the side lines.
Better things to do with my slack jaw.

Name calling?? nope...
I was simply pointing out the grand diversity of members to this board and how we all interact. Now if I had wanted to be a real door **** I could have pointed out the multiple spelling and grammatical errors in the replies to this thread thus far by some of the members but I know in this day and age we are all in a hurry and errors do happen.
(occausions, geather etc.)
Anyway to answer the question a Slack Jawed Yokel is someone who doesn’t know any better, a product of his/her environment or for lack of a better term “Trailer Trash”
By the way 01 XLT Sport it must be some big cat to ruin your $20,000 vehicle, I would think that the scratches left by a 10 to 15lbs housecat would be easily removed from a well taken care of (i.e. Waxed) truck.
But that’s just my opinion.

Damn, I didn't know that anybody on this board was trailer trash. If so, these are some awfully nice looking trucks for that lifestyle.
If I ever see a scratch on my hood from that damn cat, I'll.................hmmmmmmmmm. Neighbor has big a$$ dog in his yard.

Again, ironically, names are being thrown out on the table yet, the way that I read the previous post, they aren't being 'called'.
Interesting observation in sociology and human interaction in my honest and humble opinion.

Nope not a big cat at all, your average size, run of the mill cat. My truck is well maintained, has 7 coats of Zaino polish on it so good that even when bugs hit it at 70mph that don't tend to stick well.
Now, in your case I don't know what Ford is using for paint on your truck but to this point I have yet to see any paint, including the paint I had on my Camaro (approx. $3,000) that cat claws can NOT do some serious damage to. I can tell you Ford is not using top quality paint that professional show cars might use and even that will not stand up to cat claws, you know where the cat gets freaked out and tries to leave in a hurry, kind of like they just can't get going, digging their claws in for better traction.
Anyhow, not knocking Fords paint its great paint BUT it was not intended for use by cat's trying to leave in a hurry and getting traction. In the case of my truck with all the Zaino on it they (the cat) would have a hell of a time getting traction but would scratch it.
Now, getting back to cat's. They are stupid useless animals. I don not support hurting animals for fun in any way. Never the less if one gets near my truck, digs in my yard to take a dump it will find a pellet up its as*. That is teaching the cat proper behavior it "shall" practice while living among us adults who are alot more smarter then some dumb animal. If cat's and animals in general are to have "rights" then they will be held accountable for their actions since us humans are.
Now, you may be addressing some of my post with mis-spellings as well as other grammer problems. I am an engineer but I can tell you point blank I am not an english teacher. I may mis-speel words at times but oh well, I am a human and I have rights
Or is it only the stupid useless animals????

Speaking of cats...........I had neighbors eith several cats who would constantly use my truck or waverunner as a bed. When I caught them, I'd spray them with water. Finally, the cats wouldn't come back. Then one morning, after the neighbor saw me spray one of the cats, I found a LARGE pile of dog sh== dumped in a spot that I would possible step in it to turn on my water hydrant. Bad neighbors......... Yes I moved.
Went out this morning and what do i see. $%^*ing cat prints all over my truck.
And scratches on my hood, oh yeah, I just waxed it this past weekend also.
If I see him tonight or this weekend that is one dead cat. I might even post picture.

For pete sakes what ever you do don't just waist the cat. Put it's body to good use. As I have posted before there is a good use for a cat, a SPEEDBUMP. It must be installed correctly however to be of use.
During installation you must, I repeat MUST hear two THUDS with very little time between THUDS, min. = 0.3 to 0.7 seconds. If you only hear one THUD then you have not installed the SPEEDBUMP correctly and will need to turn around to re-try the installation. Once you have done one correctly all future ones will be simple...
Goodluck, post back and let me know how it goes, or if you need any further instructions.

Ok, 01 XLT Sport
I can't believe your having that many problems with your paint. I tow my off road toy behind my truck and as a tow vehicle it always gets all kinds of "racing stripes" down it and they buff right out. In fact I get compliments on how good my paint looks all the time, I guess it’s just the time I put into it.
As for the spelling mistakes, you’re an engineer so I understand……I would make the same monosyllabic grunt tone joke I do with the engineers here but for some reason I don’t think you would take it so well.
As for killing or hurting an animal because its near your truck…..if that’s what you got to do then that’s your call, say “hello” to the police for me if your state has any animal protection laws. I know if it was my cat I would call the police, for those of us that have animals of our own they are a part of our family.
Rockpick, Subtlety is key...hey I can be as bold and forward as anyone, when I was younger I was the first person to drop gloves and give it a go but I have learned that quietly expressing your distain and a few deftly placed comments brings a cleaner type of satisfaction.
Well that’s it for me children, I am done playing for the day so I am going home to play with my cat and maybe wash/wax the truck and start to get it ready for the white stuff that’s coming soon.
Can you feel it? All kinds of Barry White love in the air.
