First oil change...what fluids to add?

Hey, I just hit 2850k miles and got my oil changed at the dealer. I was wondering if any of you guys with new trucks add any other fluids to your truck around oil change time? Such as FI cleaner, gas treatment...or something like that? Thanks for the help.

LARM1,
I never run any additives in the motor oil, trans fluid, etc. Maybe an occasional bottle of Techron, but that's about it.

Best of luck,
Larry

Hey LARM,

How'd you manage to get 2.8 million miles on a brand new truck!

I think you meant to say "2 thousand eight hundred fifty", right.

Anyway, you shouldn't need any additives on a brand new ride.

Good luck, and enjoy your new truck!

Earth to the moon and back a bunch of times.. Beam us down Scotty.

There's really no need for oil additives, new or used. It's a waste of $. But then again everyone has their own opinions on the subject.. Use something if that makes you feel better. Got too much cash?

I agree with these people. In my own opinion and from the many post I have read on this site you really never need to add and additives to you motor oil. If your using a good quality oil, be it dino, dino/synthetic mix, or pure synthetic and you change it on a regular basis 3000 to 5000 miles your motor should stay in great shape for a long long time.

However at each oil change (3,000 miles for me, Valvoline durabend 5W-30) I do run a bottle of fuel injector in my gas to keep the injectors clean. It has been recommended here on this site, by some of the people, as well as two different Ford dealerships that I go to.
