Talking first DA buffer use... my thoughts and opinions

Well, I finally took the PC7336 out for a spin and all I can say is I love it. I was thinking to myself before that this might have been a waste of money and that I can apply the wax by hand with no problem, but after I've used it, there's no way I'll do it by hand again.

My SuperCrew is a lot of work by hand and I'd say that by using the PC, the time spent doing the whole job of waxing has decreased by 75%. It only took me about 15 minutes total to apply the wax to the entire truck and that includes the time spent doing the parts that the PC can't get to easily by hand. I still buff off the wax by hand with a large towel and I think I'll continue doing that. I don't think I could really hope to speed that process up much, not to mention the fact those bonnets would clog up regularly with so little surface area.

To anybody who is on the fence about making the purchase, I'd highly recommend it.
Marcus

Yep! Having a good DA buffer really decreases the amount of time it takes to wax your truck.

I personally use the DeWalt DW443 as my DA buffer. It has a larger motor than the PC and comes with a hook and loop pad.

I still buff off the wax my hand too. I do use the Microfiber bonnets for buffing off Klasse Sealant Glaze though. Well, I first go over it with a MF towel and then hit it again with the MF bonnet.

MF towels

I would have bought the Dewalt but I couldn't find a single store in the area that sold them and I was too impatient to wait for an online order.

I've never used a MF towel, but I'm wondering if they work any better than the big bath towels? Any thoughts? Do they buff off wax faster? Do they last longer?

I actually only use MF towels for Buffing off Klasse SG and for cleaning glass. A good cotton towel is great for buffing off wax. You MF towel still gets clogged up with residue like a cotton towel.

I use 100% cotton towels for everything else. Well, interior work I use polyester backed towels...
