Question Traany fluid change, need advice..

Greetings all,

Having my truck serviced in a few weeks (see descp. below) I am going to have the tranny fluid changed, i am at 24,000 miles. What fluid should i dump in her? Should i go to the dealer and by Motorcraft stuff? Anything better? Money is not a concern, any advice is appreciated..

TIA--- medic

I'm not 110% sure pgh. I'd assume that you should go by whatever the manual says...

You might have better luck posting this in the transmission forum. We typically talk about wax and clay bars in here....

GOOD LUCK! Also, NICE TRUCK!

Hey, burgh....I change my tranny fluid and filter every 30,000 miles. I have the dealer do it, just because it is easier for them since they have a lift and I trust them. I believe they use the regular old Motorcraft stuff. I really don't think the fluid is of much concern if you are going to change it every 25K, which BTW I think is a good idea. I have had several mechanics tell me that nothing makes a vehicle last longer then keeping clean fluids in it.

BTW, I love Pittsburgh...I am a big Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins fan. (FAther was from Latrobe and wouldn't let me rout for any other pro teams!!)
