PC 7424 users.... I need your help.

PC 7424 users.... I need your help. (what speed do you use?)

I've decided that this is the RO buffer for me, but I have a couple of questions....

Do you use the polishing pad that comes with the 7424 (#54745) or do you replace that pad with a hook and loop attachment and use the pads (or ones like them) from properautocare.com??

Please comment on which counterweight you use as well.

pads

I use the pad furnished with the polisher. What I did is went to Wal-mart and bought new 4-6 inch bonnets, one for every step (cleaner, polish, and wax). They have lambs wool and terry cloth that will fit right over the white pad. Hope that helps.

Is that white pad, just a pad or is it actually suitable for applying wax???

White pad

Yes you can use that pad, according to Meguiars. Just make sure you get a pad for every chemical you use(Cleaner, polish, wax).
That is why I chose to use bonnets, they fit right over the pad. Sorry, I didn't log in yesterday. Hope that helps

went for it

I got the PC (model 7336 which is the same as the 7424 but it comes with the polishing pad) at Lowes yesterday ($109) and it had the flat backed 6" sanding pad and the 6" white polishing pad. I also ordered the PC accessory kit from properautocare.com. I'll wait for the kit to arrive before I decide which pad I'll use for my LG. I'm sure I'll be happy with the results.

what speed

Another question. What speed do you use with the PC7424? Slowest? Fastest? Somewhere in the middle?
