zaino vs. liquid glass .... my same day tests
I had to open my big mouth. I went home to visit my folks and told them I was gonna wax my truck while I was down and they put me to work on their vehicles too! Anything for my folks though.
I thought this would be a good opportunity to try the LG product and compare it to the Zaino Z2. I did both black vehicles (mine-F150 SuperCrew, folks-Honda Prelude) the same day so that the humidity and temperature conditions would be very similar. However, this was an all day affair and the application of everything was by hand. I used foam pads for all the wax and cleaner products.
My folks Prelude was pretty dirty and it hadn't had a coat of wax in a long time. I went through the process of Dawn wash, clay bar, Zaino wash, Meguiars Step 1 Cleaner, Z1, and finally Z2. I've always been impressed with the Zaino product. Goes on easy and comes off easy. It is a pain to have to use the Z1 before the Z2 though. I know that they have the mixed product now but I didn't have any. With only one Z2 coat, the car was VERY smooth and shiny. No complaints whatsoever with the Zaino. I especially love the Zaino quick detailer.
Since my truck is much newer than the Prelude, I skipped some steps I didn't think were necessary so I did the Dawn wash, Zaino wash, and then the liquid glass application. Application was easy. I had read on this board that the LG could be a real pain to remove, but I found just the opposite to be true. I let it dry completely before removing and it comes off very easily although there is a lot of dust. In fact, I would say that the LG is easier to remove than the Zaino product. LG does tend to be a little more noticeable when you get it on plastic trim though. As for the shine, it's great! I'm very impressed. One coat and I have a mirror surface. The following day, I put a second coat on and the improvement was noticeable. I'm sold on the LG. I'll post pics soon.
Thanks to everybody on the board for their LG and Zaino thoughts, comments, and tips.

Yhea, I like Liquid Glass because I don't have to put a lot of layers on the car. Great for mobile detailing where the customer won't want to pay me to put three coats of Klasse on or like 10 coats of Zaino.

I've never used LG in the sun but I do know if you leave it on awhile it becomes difficult to buff off. The sun would just increase that I guess.
I still think it is easy to buff off if you buff it off right after it hazes.

good test, but you should have did like Intel asked me to before and do 1/2 your truck in LG and the other half in Z, right down the middle
j/k
anyway, i do the entire truck then buff it all off and i find it to be reallyeasy. Hardest part is doing the hood without streaking
but the shine is great
