painting question
painting question
I have a little boo-boo on my bumper, and it wasn't me that did it.
I was just wondering, i sanded it , painted it, now i'm about to wet sand, then do a few more coats. Should i compound it, then do the clear coat? or the other way around? or after both.
also, after my final coat of the paint, can i use very fine grit wet sand paper, and lightly sand the last coat before i clear? or will compound get out any little imperfections. Its just a small spot btw. About a foot long by about 2" wide. Thanks for any help/ suggestions.

Anybody? I have it painted now. Did 3 light coats, wetsanded, 2 average coats.
I was wondering if i should wetsand the edge now, to get rid of the very tiny step in the paint, and compound it to get rid of any slight orange peel (compound willl get rid of that right? never used compound before).
Then after i do that, i'll clear coat it to bring back the gloss.
My other question is can i compound over the clear to get rid of any slight step in the paint between the clear and the stock paint? Or will the compound mess it up?
After i do all that, i'll do a few coats of LG
Thanks
