window price

Does anyone know how much one of the side windows cost on an extended cab F-150? I'm talking about the rear passenger window in the cab, the little one on the side. I have a paper thin scratch about 4" long and I know nothing will hide it or get it out, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You have tried a glass shop ?
I woudl think if it is paper thin, that the shop *might* be able to buff it out. I have not tried, as the glass polishing kits have huge warrings about being able to damage the glass ( the ones at eastwoodcompany.com ).

If you have already tried this route, try fordpartsonline.com.

You can browse the collision catalog, I have not looked for this specificly, but they seem to have the major items on the site.
If not, call the phone number ( they are in CA ), and ask the parts dept, most likely Gary Starr will answer, and he would be able to help you straight away.
They have really good prices on stuff.

I have seen others, like fordoemparts.com or somethign liek that, but have not used them.

Just 2 ideas to try......

Another great site for Ford Parts is

www.fordpartsnetwork.com

I've done business with them and they are nothing short of incredible. Also, not sure if you've tried this yet but, you might be able to come up with one from your local junk yard. Who cares if it has a little dust and dirt on it? Just get it all slicked up and install....

Voila.... new glass cheap!

GOOD LUCK!

Ranch,
If you can find a Glas-Weld windshield repair agent in your area and he has a scratch removal kit he could take that scratch out without any distortion in about 30 minutes. You may could call glas weld and ask them if someone is in your town. 1-800-321-2597. I am in West Monroe, La. and have 2 of the scratch removal kits.

Go to the local junk yards and see if you can find one in good shape for a good price.

Angry It will set you back a bit...

I had a break in through the rear driver's side quarter window and it cost about $365 to have it replaced. It does seem like a lot of money considering my friend's dad had his windshield replaced on his '99 Ranger for about $250!
