acid rain on windows

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove acid rain spots from my exterior windows?

Is it acid rain as it, it etched the glass or are they just waterspots?

If it etched your glass then you need a someone who deals with car glass to look at it. He might be able to fix it.

If it is just a water spot, then you can get a glass polish and buff them off.

This takes a little patience but it works like a one legged man in an a$$ kicking contest...

It helps if you have an orbital buffer but you can do it by hand. Just takes alot more work.

Go to the hardware store and get 000 steel wool. Spread it out covering your buffer (with a bonnet on it) and soad the steel wool in Meguiars clear coat body scrub or #1 paint cleaner (or equivalent favorite brand). The idea is to have some type of medium there, not necessairly that Meguiars is the only one that works. Put your buffer on the glass and go to work. Don't think you are going to run over it a couple of times and get it all. Let that buffer go to work. I would do say half a windshield (or what ever you can reach) and just let the buffer run for a good 10 minutes in that area. Re-wet your wool occasionally just as if you were waxing that area over and over. Every so often stop buffing and wipe clean with a cloth to see how it's going. Once you get to a smootheness you are happy with, stop. If you don't like it, keep going. Trust me, this works like crazy. AND NO, the steel wool will not scratch or swirl the glass. You will swear it's brand new. Still doubtful...Just try a little spot like I said and then look at it in the sun and see for yourself. Good luck.

friggin acid rain etched my 2 rear door windows that are privacy glass. I used liquid glass on the windows today, and now you can barely see where it was etched. Still can see it at a certain angle, but no where near as noticible as before.

someone suggested (about a year ago) to use ultra fine "0000" steel wool. It also takes off hard water spots.

I'm not sure if it'd work but, they make a type of glass stripper that's available at wally-hell. I had a tube of it and used it to clean my glass on an old vehicle of mine and it worked pretty good.
