to wax or not to wax?

I want to wax my beast this weekend but I just had my driver side of the truck repainted about 3 weeks ago after getting the body work done to it from the hit and run incident my truck suffered at the hands of a semi truck
Think the paint would be ok to wax?

I have been told my a friend of the family that is a body man, that in general 30 days is what you want.

If you really feel the need to wax it this weekend, you can use something like the 3M wax, no silicome in it, and safe for the freshly painted.

If you want to do your normal wax, IMHO I would wait another week, but I am always safe then sorry.

Wax the rest of your truck and just hold off on that panel for a few more weeks.

Better safe than sorry. I have a customer waiting for me to come out for a few more weeks so her paint can cure.

I asked my Body Shop Manager this same question after my truck was fixed, and he said to wait 2 weeks before waxing if you are using a wax or polish without any abrasives in it. He also said that if the paint isn't cured in 2 weeks, then it probably will never cure. The new paint cures much faster than older paints did.

Just what I heard, so take it for what is worth.

I'm going to do what Intel suggested...since it's new paint it does look a little better then the rest of the truck, so If I wax everything but the new paint it will help match it up better.

thanks guys, They Beast appriciates it!
