Help with Window tint removal
I need to take the window tint off my side windows and was wondering if there is a perferd method other then razor and glass cleaner to get the tint off.
Any suggestions??? Thanks

I just had to take the tint off my girlfriend's Civic and it was kinda a pain. Tried several different cleaners but none worked very well. Ended up getting a hair dryer and heating up the glue a little and then using a razor blade. Don't heat the glue too much b/c it will get to gooey. Good Luck.
I agree with Johnny Mo. Just soak the film down with an amonia based cleaner such as windex. Use the razor blade to start pealing the film. The amonia will break down the glue that holds it on.
Denatured Alcohol + elbow grease
Peel the film while it's warm then try to keep the adhesive saturated with the alcohol it's difficult because it flashes so quick but it works better than anything else I've seen. Avoid the razor with defrost or antenna.

When I detailed cars, we used the foamy type window cleaner. It stays on the glue better and doesn't run off as fast. I let it soak for a while, then use a razor to scrape off the side widnows. You also can use steel wool. On any window with a defogger, DO NOT use a razor. Once that little wire is scraped off, the defogger is done. I would try both the razor and the steel wool to see which is easier.
