Swirl marks in black paint on my Supercrew
Swirl marks in black paint on my Supercrew
I used liquid NUCAR polish on the bed of my Black Screw, and now have swirl marks in the paint!!!
I washed the truck before using the polish, and used a 100% soft cotton cloth to apply it, and was amazed that I ended up with the swirls.
The label says "Safe for all clear coated finishes".
Any ideas what went wrong?
How do I get rid of the swirl marks without going to a paint shop?
Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks, Bru

Swirls are not caused by the polish but by the way they were applied. It's your fault.
They are probably because you used a 100% cotton towel.
Also, you need to make sure you actually have 100% cotton towels and not 100% cotton loop towels. The 100% cotton loop towels usually will have a polyester backing which is bad.
Anyways, towels are bad for applying a polish. Good for buffing residue off though.
Get foam pads and use a back and forth motion when you polish. i.e. don't go in little circles.

It's not the product, but the user. You should of used polishing cloths. But swirl marks are easy removed by cleaning, polishing, and waxing. It is very time consuming, so I'd just recommend you take it to a detail shop for best results.
