Angry What the ?^@%

I removed my door guards today. First the ones on the back door. Took both off and then proceeded to do the front two doors. Got them off, all is going well, right. WRONG. After I use some 3M Adhesive remover to get all of the remaining double sided tape off all hell breaks loose.

On both front doors there is a ring that runs even with were the door guards once where. I've tried everything to get them off. Then the idea of buffing them out came to my mind. I don't own a buffer so I would have to pay someone to do this. No big deal though, I think it is going to look good anyways. Then I start to feel the rings. I notice that the paint under the fronts of the molding are not even with the rest of the paint on my truck. As I feel the paint there is a definite raise in the paint level. It is very noticeable and I don't know what to do.

Will I have to have that area sanded and then repainted or what?
HHHHHEEEELLLLPPP

Yhea, it looks like he has the old style Lightning rims. They look good!

Are you sure you got all the glue off? I can't imagine there being a lip there that is because of the paint.

Maybe you could get a close up picture of it?

Thanks for the compliments. They are the old Lightning Rims. I bought them from a guy in town for $600.00. I'll try and get a picture of what I'm talking about as soon as I figure my digital camera out. I know it's not glue. Thanks for the help so far.

OK. Here we go. I took my truck to a paint shop "Not my friends" though. They said it was overspray on the vehicle. When I bought my truck it only had 500 miles on it. And I bought it from a local ford dealer. It wasn't sitting on the used lot, but behind the building were they keep all of the "Last year models".

Anyways, the body shop said that my truck had obviously had body work done to it. And that when they faded the paint back to make it blend in they just taped around the moulding. Therefore allowing for some paint to get behind the moulding and dry. They couldn't realy explain why the moulding had eating through some of the paint though.

In the long run I got two estimates from different places. $175 for both doors and $250 for both doors. So know I get to figure out a way to pay for this, and try and figure out why I wasn't told about my Truck being in a wreck when I bought it.

Oh yeah, ran a carfax report and it came up clean.
