Problem with spots.

I notice everytime I wash my truck, there are water spots all over it. So usually I take a cotton cloth and wiped them off. Is there anything I could do to prevent these spots? I've already tried wax, but the spots still show up. This is very annoying and time consuming. So if anyone knows something that I don't, give me a yell. Your replies are welcome.

Do you dry the truck after you wash? Probably mild waterspots forming.

Wash your truck in the shade and dry it off immediately after washing with soft terry cloths or a chamois. Also, try using a high-quality car wash. From personal experience, I've noticed a huge difference in water spotting from using the cheapy armor all car wash concentrate to using the nicer Meguires Gold Class Concentrate.

The key is drying before evaporation. Water spots are the result of contamination in the water that is left behind on the paint after the water has re-entered the water cycle (aka: evaporated).

Even though I dry mine (9.5 times out of 10) prior to it drying on the paint, I've made it a habit to use Meguires "FINAL INSPECTION" or Meguires "Quick Detailer" after washing and drying. This ensures that the water spots won't be there and that the paint is sLiCk.

Good luck.

after i wash the cars and trucks around here i i remove the nozzle from the hose and let the water run straight from the hose onto the veichle. This allows the water to sheet off instead of just drip drying off. These dropllets left on your car will dry up and cause your spots. So next time you wash your truck just remove the nozzle from the hose and just run the water straight from the hose and let it stream off. Do this on the entire truck. If you cannnot wash your truck in the shade, what i like to do is just wait untill close to sunset so the sun sin't beating on the truck

Because the better soaps have chealting agents in it that absorb the minerals.

Thanks for the tips Intel486, TexforD, f-150_91 and RockPick. I'll buy some Meguire's concentrate and I'll try the trick with the water hose or take my truck to a car wash after I wash it and then buy some quick detail to finish her off. It's about time for a good detail job. Thanks again.
