Question Need advice on dealer paint problem

Here is what happened:

Brought my 99 scab 4x4 to local dealer to get cracked doors and rusted door/tailgate seams fixed ..........90/10 deal, I paid 10% and ford paid 90%.

I had a few dings in my drivers door from parking lots......so I asked the body shop manager how much to fix the dents while you are doing the rest of the work? And also, I wanted my tailgate sprayed at the same time. He tells me $150.00 extra for the dings and tailgate paint, on top of my 10% to ford for rest of work.

Sounds good, so I say go ahead.

Anyway, they did the work, and I am NOT HAPPY with the quality of their work. Several problems with it:

1) There is a crack in passanger door that looks like the edge of a repair weld....I showed him this the day after I got my truck back....he blows me off by saying it could be something in the paint, keep an eye on it.

2) Looking at my BLACK PAINT, I can see allkinds of sanding scratches all over....like they used 240 grit rather than 320 grit for prep sand.......and drivers paint is "dry" not shiny.....and the frigging body work they did is WICKED BAD.....drivers door is wavy! I can't stand looking at it! I take it back and show him this, I mention that I have experience with body work, he says that mabey they should have had me do the body work?!? He agrees to buff the paint, but brushes off the body work.

3) Get the truck from buffing......I needed to polish truck due to WICKED SWIRL marks left by the KID who buffed it! Now after much work on my part, the truck is shiny, BUT the drivers door still looks crappy due to the waves in the body work! I think it is such an AMETURE job, that it actually is decreasing the value of my truck!

The one good thing is: Dealer has a girl who calls and follows-up on the work that was done, I have her number and I hinted that I was not impressed with their body shop, and that I would get back to her.

What does everyone suggest? I think the body shop is not interested in fixing the body work.

Well, don't let up on it.

I would suggest getting in touch with Ford, and letting them know the crappy work their dealership is doing. Since Ford paid 90% of the truck repairs, I would think that they wouldn't be happy about paying for crappy work neither!

My truck is going in to the body shop on Monday for a complete paint job due to the clearcoat cracking. Ford is paying 75% of the work, my portion works out to about $900. That is including door cracks and under door rusting. I did some research on this dealership, and they supposedly do some really good work. So, hopefully the truck will look better than new when it is done.
