Question Question for Intel486

Intel, I recently purchased a 1997 F-150 extended cab with the long bed, and 4.6 L from a Ford dealer. The paint on this vehicle and the interior appear to be in excellent shape. My question for you is what steps, products would you recommend to start detaling for the paint? I followed the recomendations about using a clay bar recently on my wife's 1998 Honda Accord ex-v6, and the results were wonderful. I intend to first dawn wash the truck, followed by Mother's clay bar. What do you recommend after (products etc.) the clay bar??? The paint I believe is DZ code which I think is called LT. saddle cc (I guess this means light saddle clear coat??) Any help or recommendations are appreciated......Thanks

P.s. any others feel free to make suggestions

After the clay I would then hit it with a very mild polish. The polish isn't really there to take out swirls but will feed oil to the paint and enchance the shine. I suggest, even if you aren't going to use Klasse Sealant Glaze, Klasse All-in-One as a good polish for this job. It provides an excellent shine. You could also use Meguiar's #9.

For a good wax I like Klasse Sealant Glaze, ProWax's Satin Creme, or Meguiar's #26.

Intel486, Thanks for the great info. I'm thinking of going the Klasse method. Is Klasse only available on-line, or am I correct in hearing someone say that BMW dealerships sometimes carry their line?? (got a bimmer dealer near me) If it's only available on-line, could ya give me some sites that you like to order from?

Thanks again

Some BMW dealerships have it. I would try there first.

You can get it from Klassedirect.com or properautocare.com
