Question for Intel:
Hey man whats goin on... After a couple months i have noticed u are the EXPERT on Exterior Care. So I have a scenario for you to simulate for me...
Say in some bizarre series of events, you let your truck get dirty!
. I mean nasty filthy... Im just wondering what would be all the steps you take (in order) to get your truck back to sparkling. Or what would you do to a brand new off the lot truck to get it nice n protected the way yours must be. Please include products and instructions... thanx!

Just go to www.autopia-carport.com/ and click on the forums tab off to the left. That is where Intel gets alot of good info. I see his posts there all the time. It is a great place to post questions and learn, much like here. Good luck...

I'm pretty sure Intel will log on soon enough but in case you need to know right away check out the following thread
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...threadid=72622
if it doesn't work, pull down the threads for the last 20 days in General Care and Intel has the thread titled as Complete Detail (lots of pics).
It proably has all the info your looking for.

Iwao posted a good thread you can look at.
Use a pressure washer to get as much dirt off. Mine is 1500psi and I keep the throttle in the middle when washing cars. It is probably under 1000psi when I 'm using it on cars. I can put my hand infront of it and it doesn't take skin off
Then wash with dawn. I'd get two wash mitts. One for using with dawn and one for using with carwashes. I don't wanna risk there still being a little dawn in my normal carwash mit so I have two. I like the microfiber mits but cotton ones are good too.
You'll also need two buckets and three if you wanna be like me :P Use one for just cleaning wheels, tires and wheel wells, another for below the trim line, and then the other for everything else. If you only have two, then just leave out the one for below the trim line and use one bucket for all the paint.
Next clay your truck. I like the Mothers Clay bar. Eagle one clay bar gets the job done but it streaks badly. I'll be trying out ProWax clay soon. I was going to get some today but I'll be going over there monday so I'll see how I like it.
Next check for staining in your paint the clay didn't get. Hit the stains and discoloration with Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion or Meguiar's Body Scrub.
Next you can use a polish. I use a rotary buffer for polishing but you can apply it by hand or with a Dual action buffer. I prefer Meguiars #9 for a polish but a lot of people like 3m Swirl Mark Remover. I do not really like it because it leaves a lot of residue behind.
After the polish you can apply your wax. For a synthetic wax I would go with Klasse Sealant Glaze. If using Klasse SG you can apply Klasse All-in-One by hand before the Klasse SG. For a Carnauba wax I would go with Meguiar's #26, 3m Perfect-It Show Car Liquid Wax, or Meguiar's Gold Class. Meguiar's gives a good shine but it does not last very long. Mother's Pure Carnauba paste is also decent.
For you wheels I would get Eagle One all wheel cleaner and a soft nylon brush. It works great. For your tires you'll need a tire cleaner. Don't get the foaming kind you spray on and just leave. Eagle One makes a tire cleaner but it is hard to find. If you can't find any, then you can use dawn. Get a brass tire brush. Then scrub your tires really well with it, risnse your tire well, and then buff with a towel. Keep doing it until you buff with the towel in the end and hardly get any black residue. That black residue is dead rubber. Frequent cleaning and appilcation of a good tire dressing will help prevent dead rubber.
For the engine compartment I use Eimann Fabrik Natural Degreaser (smells like oranges. MMMM) Agitate dirty areas with a soft nylon brush. (Get lots of brushes. You'll be using brushes for everything) For the rubber parts use 303 protectant. It'll give it a good shine and help prevent them from drying and cracking. For metal you can use Armorall. Gives it a great shine! Just don't use it on rubber.
For interior I use fantastik and a small nylon brush for cleaning vinyl. I apply it, lightly scrub dirty areas with nylon brush, and then wipe down with a wet rag. I then use 303 protectant on the vinyl. For the carpets I vaccum them very well. For stains in the carpet I use Prestone Carpet Cleaner. If the stains are on the mat I pull the mat out, clean the stain with prestone Carpet cleaner, and then use the pressure washer on the mat. Hang the mat up to dry and before you put it back in you can use your wet/dry vac to get some more water out.
If the stain is on the carpet of the vehicle where the carpet can not be removed, then I use the prestone carpet cleaner on the spot. Spray the foam on, scrub with a brush, let sit for 30seconds, blot with wet rag. I then use a spray bottle with water and spray the area down very well. Spray, then blot with dry towel to get as much of the soap out as I can. I then give it another spray and use my wet/dry vac to suck as much water out as I can. When I'm done the spot is just lighly damp.
