paint problem

i just got a new windshield on my truck and they put tape on the top of it to secure it while it was gettin secure. They told me to leave the tape on for a few days. Well i just took it off. The tape (almost liek duct tape but not exactly) left the sticky stuff on the windshield and the pain above it. I got it off the windsheild with window cleaner and a razor but how do i get it off the paint? Thanx.

Try some WD-40. I had some road tar on my truck once and wasnt sure how to get it off. Wouldnt come off with even dish soap. A friend of mine suggested WD-40 and it wiped off very easy. since its an oil it will not hurt your paint but after using it I would wash it just to be safe. Let me know if it works.

I used some cheap masking tape on my fenders the other day. Left some residue. I took it off with Klasse AIO.

Yes, wash it and wax the area when finished with WD-40.

BTW, spray the WD-40 on a rag, not on the truck. No telling what it will do to the seal if it drips down. Maybe nothing. Maybe something. Better safe than sorry.

Do what Frank S says. Wash and wax right after the WD-40.

How about having the auto glass guys do it, seeing as how they put it there.

And if they bugger up your paint or trim, they also have to fix that.

They way I see it, they haven't yet finished the job you paid for.

How do you feel about getting an oil change and having them leave the used oil in a bucket on your seat ('cause its up to you to finish the job)
