Wet Tire Spray Vs. Stp Son Of A Gun

I'VE USED BOTH OF THESE TIRE DRESSINGS ON OCCASION AND I'VE NOTICED THAT WET TIRE SPRAY LOOKS AND SMELLS GOOD... BUT IT GETS ALL OVER YOUR TRUCK AFTER YOU DRIVE IT.(ESPECIALLY AFTER YOU JUST WASHED IT.) AND IT'S HARD AS HE** TO GET IT OFF YOUR VEHICLE'S BODY. STP SON OF A GUN, ON THE OTHER HAND IS NOT ALL THAT BAD. I'VE NOTICED IT STICKS TO YOUR TIRES AND NOT YOUR TRUCK'S BODY. IT DOESN'T HAVE A BETTER SHINE THAN WTS, BUT IT GIVES YOU THAT NEW TIRE LOOK. I DON'T SELL OR SUPPORT STP SON OF A GUN, I JUST THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE MY EXPERIENCE. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A GOOD TIRE DRESSING? LET ME KNOW.

Personal preference, I'm still an Armor All guy. I would think it to be true with all dressings that if you drive when it's wet, you're going to get it on the paint and, for the most part, it's a booger to get off. Also, it seems to attract dust and road dirt to make little 'spec spots' on the paint.

I prefer the 'low gloss' look of armor all. I'm not as much on the super shiny look.... at least on my truck. It's all a personal preference.

Heck, as we all know, we're all just TOO PARTICULAR about our vehicles! hahaha.... I probably spend more time rubbing on my King Ranch Edition than I do my wife. Roll on!

Hot Rod mag did a comparison

They did a comparison of probably 15 tire dressings a couple of months ago. Sorry, but I can't remember who was best but I'm sure someone online here saw the article and can tell you. I'd like to know too because I want to use the best stuff on my tires.

Black Magic

I've found the Black Magic line to work great. I find that thier tire product has a very nice shine and, more importantly, it lasts the longest out of all the ones I've tried - that being quite a few over the years. Also try the Dash cleaner. It has a Satin-sheen that is perfect. No more annoying hi-gloss. It also protects the plastic on the exterior of the vehicle, too. That makes it 10 times easier to clean off dirt, bugs, pollen, etc. I know this sounds like and ad , but I'm really that impressed.

I use the STP foam spray. I spray it, wait a minute, then wipe it down so there are no runs. It's not ultra gloss, but it doesn't throw any liquid, and it does not attract dirt as fast as the wet glosses do. And, it's easier to get inbetween the raised white lettering.

I've never tried the STP, but the Black Magic Tire Wet gives the best shine of anything I have used. It does however, get all over your body if you don't let it sit for about an hour, so usually, I'll spray the tires and then let them "dry" while I'm detailing the interior. Also, don't spray it on your tires in your driveway. Do it in the street if possible, because that which drips off makes a very slippery black spot.

I use the Eagle One Wet Tire Gel. I apply it with a sponge and haven't noticed it spraying off at all on my truck.

I use the Meguire's Endurance high gloss. It is the thick stuff that needs a sponge or applicator to apply. It does fly off a little, but does wipe off the paint easily. I found that if I apply it, then wipe the tire down a little with an old rag, it greatly reduces the amount that flies off.
I use this becuase it lasts a couple weeks and will survive light rain. Lasts MUCH longer than the water based ones.
All I use Armor All for is on the engine. Mix 50/50 water and Armor All. Spray it on after you wash the engine compartment, makes it look great.

I always like to wash the old off before applying the new. And if you wash your truck at very close times together (week or two) the black magic is a booger. That stuff is a pain to get off. In some ways yes good but some bad. I like the old trusty Armor all.

I have to agree with slapshot, it is the best I've used you will like it especially if you like the shiny appearance. I haven't noticed it coming off the tire on to the paint either.

I have tried them all. The best I found is Catrol Tire Shine. It comes in the same color bottle as the Super Clean, so read the front carefully. This way you will not get the wrong thing.
This is the best thing out. It does not fling off on your paint. It also lasts about a week. Use eagle one tire swipes to put it on. This product truly works.........

The best dressings I have found are Stoners More Shine for Less Time and Eagle One Tire Shine. I found the key is to let them dry on the car for about an hour to prevent body spray.

Thumbs up No Touch Wet'N'Protect

I have used every tire dressing they make and I finally found one that I'm very fond of, No Touch Wet'N'Protect. It's made by Permatex. It looks great, smells great, doesn't get all over your truck and it last a very long time. It costs about $5.00 a can. My roomate works for STP products and gets all STP products and Armor All products for free. We have about 25 cases of Detailers Advantage Armor All tire foam in our garage and I will not use it Period! That brings truth to the saying "I wouldn't use it if it were for free" Just my $.02

I usually use the eagle one wet stuff and it works great. While I am at collage, the truck sets for a few days without movement so the tire stuff dries really well in the sun. At home I just pull into the garage and let it set. After one night or so, the only wheel slap is on the inner edge of the finder. None on the truck.

(I wipe off the while lettering with a rag when done so they will be brighter, and clean the whole wheel off really good while you are washing)
