First Try With Clay Bar ..... works great!!
First Try With Clay Bar ..... works great!!
Some fo you guys may relate to this but here goes:
Finally had some time to devote to a full detail of my truck. Had been reading about the "clay bar" here for a long time and bought the Meguiar's kit and started out following the instructions.
Well, after some "nervous moments" from pressing a little too hard I got the hang of it and let me tell you I got a lot of surface dirt off and finished with a good polishing and wax. The clay bar is really neat!!
I learned that if you press too hard or don't have it lubricated enough you get residue from the bar that looks like scrathes in the paint and damn near had cardiac arrest. But with a little polish and later waxing the "scratches" were simply clay left on the surface.
The moral is keep it well lubricated and just use the pressure from the weight of the clay bar. Smooth as glass and the surface is left well prepped for a polish if needed or final wax.
