Need that black shine back. Help.

Okay fellas. I need some opinions here. I have a 99 Black SuperCab. The black has started to loose its once shiny luster. It cleans up very well but due to my side job of landscaping I have put quite a few fine scrathes on it, not to mention my kids brushing up against the side of it I have used some stuff the dealership gave me (pink liquid) to rid some of the more apparent scratches, however the finer scatches are all over. I have seen McGuires 3 step method. I also have seen Zymol. I need to get the scatches off first. Also does anyone recommend a buffer to get these off or do I have to use the painstakingly task of doing it by hand? I hear alot of good things about Zaino but not sure if I wanna spend all the $ on it. Thanks for any help.

I use Zaino, and nothing works better on a black truck.

My truck is three years old, but many people think it's new, I have many coats of Zaino on mine:

Hey sportyblack1,

Last week I got a pretty good scratch that ran the length of my truck from the neighbor's trees that she just pruned. I don't know enough about cars or auto paint to tell you how deep it was, but it wouldn't rub off with a little spit and a lot of elbow grease so I'm sure it was pretty significant.

That weekend I bought a 10" buffer from Home Depot and a can of McGuires wax and it disappeared, not to mention I got a fantastic shine on the Screw! I recommend a buffer to anyone who owns a vehicle. They make a world of difference!

Hope this helped a bit.

Hey mudder,

Has your truck ever seen anything else but dry pavement?
No pun intended, here but your truck looks like an offroad
beast like mine, and mines fullof scratches because shes
black too :-(

I just had it waxed and they are still there..

BTW: What is Zaino? a wax? a compound? treatment?
canyou do it yourself?

Thanks

No, it goes off-road:

I just clean it real good.

You can do Zaino yourself, it's not too hard. I have about 10 coats of the Zaino scratch and swirl remover on my truck, really shines nice.
