Cool F-Series 1997-2001 Hem Flange TSB

The Hem Flange is the bottom seam on the doors where the outer skin wraps over the door frame.

The TSB #01-9-8 is for rusting of seam, that is due to the stamping plants failing to clean all the metal of stamping oils before compressing the two parts together.

This resulted in the E-coat not being able to adhere. Without the E-Coat, the area developes rust.

This may develope into perforation rust of the area.

Question

Is that for all the doors on the truck. Mine's a super cab and I have noticed some rust on the back doors down where you described. What do I do to get it taken care of?

Cool You would need to see the dealership

The TSB has the models listed. I do not have the TSB but got the number from my contacts a FCSD.

See your dealer, the service manager can bring it up on his Oasis system

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info. I have to call them for the wrong size radiator issue anyway.
