Question Drill out the rivets!!??

I just checked my Haynes manual, chapter 11 page 11, to replace my door window glass regulator which was not cheap by the way, and it says that in order to remove the equalizer arm bracket and regulator retainers I have to drill out the rivets !! Ok, I can do that, but how do I put the new regulator on? Do I have to thread screws where the rivets were? arghhh..... If I don't get this done by winter I'm gonna freeze....

Yep,
Use a center punch to knock out the center of the rivet, drill the rivets out, and use bolts (probably 1/4") to replace the rivets. You could use rivets but you will need either a hydrolic rivet gun or a "big daddy" rivet gun to rivet 1/4" rivets. I'd also be sure to use Locktite on the bolts.
