Winter wax protection?

I've read a lot about what makes your vehicle's paint shiny and smooth on this board. Sounds great, but when the road salt/spray is caked on at zero degrees, all I really want is for my paint to be protected (and the heater to work:-)). What combos do people who live in parts of the country where winter lasts for 3-4 months use and recommend? Thanks

I just take it to the dealership to get winterized and make sure I try to keep it clean. Not much help. But it's all I do and it keeps my cars shiny and new.

Although I cannot say the same about the undercarriage, my paint is in perfect condition after 4 Minnesota winters. Very shinny and no oxidation. Many comments about how it looks brand new. I wax it in the fall and make sure I take to the car wash at least once a week (every time I get gas).

Remeber also: not all car washes are created equal
