Hey guys I have a 2004 F-150 FX4 and I am planning on cleaning it up over winter break (in about 2-3 weeks). My truck is absolutely filthy on the outside from snow/mud/etc and it is driving me nuts. The frame is no longer black and has turned brown and I am just wondering if there is something strong I could use on the frame (and maybe wheel wells) to get all that stuff off. I would really like to get the frame back to its black color. My big problem is I don't have a good power washer, but I suppose I could go to a self service place and use theirs?

 

I bet you can rent a power washer from Home Depot.

 

Hmm..I will check that out. Otherwise I could go to one of the self service places.

EDIT: Home Depot rents a 2000psi pressure washer...that is what I have and it isn't strong enough to get the crap off...but mine is kind of old and may not be running to its full potential

 

I don't think the ones at the car washes are that powerful - if they were, they would strip the paint.

 

Gotcha, alright well maybe I will rent one from home depot then if I need to or just not clean my frame lol. I am a college student and not sure I want to pay $50 to rent from home depot
