Question Zaino Bros vs Wizard

I just got my first order of Zaino Bros in the mail today and am going to try it out real soon here. When I got it I knoticed that it was cherry sented. This made me think of a brand by the name of Wizard that a dealer friend of mine swears by (which is also cherry sented). Does anyone have any experience with how Wizard compares to Zaino?

deroy,

A lot of the car care product manufacturers are "scenting" their products. Wizards may smell like Zaino, but I haven't found anything that WORKS like Zaino and I've tried them all! Great stuff!!

My Zaino is in the mail. Hype aside, I want to use it on a freshly painted 1970 Cutlass as well as on my F150. How many coats of Z2 do you recommend? The Cutlass is the primary, I was thinking two coats of Z2. Should I two coat the F150 too?

Linetest,

Make sure you get all the old wax off first. You can use Dawn to wash the car to remove the old wax. Then make sure the surface is super clean and has no contaminants. Clay if necessary.

Then, Z1 first, then Z5 (if you have the Z5). After the Z5 use the Z6 QD before applying the Z2. Wait 24 hours before applying the Z2 or additional coats of Z2. Use the Z6 before each additional coat of Z2 or Z5. You can apply as many coats of Z2 as you want. It keeps improving the look. However, 2 coats is good if that's all you want.

I was gonna get some zaino after hearing and seeing it here...but if i gotta buy 4 different products and wax 5 or 6 times over 72 hours... I think I'll pass.

Is that really necessary?

Logical.
It does take at least 3 different products to get the Zaino process going (4 if you count the shampoo), and I believe the instructions ask you wait at least one day before putting on the last of the 3. Also, you don't NEED 6 or 7 applications but the more you put on the better it looks; and it does look good.

Knowing that, it's up to you if you want to spend the time and money (I think it's a little pricey) to get those results. I tried it for about a year and, while I liked the finish, I didn't like the price and the fact that it didn't last very long. I still use Zaino on my wife's Mustang ('cause it's small) but I switched back to Meguair's for my truck.

logical,

Once you do the Z1, Z5, Z2, you can maintain the finish with the QD (Z6) and an occassional coat of Z2. I simply replaced my once a year proces of Meguiars products with Zaino.

1. Clean paint - Meguiars Medallion Paint Cleaner - Use Z1
2. Remove Swirls - Meguiars Show Car Glaze - Use Z5
3. Wax - Medallion Premium Paint Protection - Use Z2
4. QD between Glaze and Wax - Meguiars FI - Use Z6

Up keep - QD with FI and occassional coat of Medallion - Use Z6 & Z2

Looks better and last longer.
No big deal for me.

For all those who use Zaino,

It's been about 6 months since I initially applied Zaino. I have been upkeeping my finish with Z6. Now I want to apply another coat of Z2. Do you recommend I apply Z1 prior to Z2?

hey screwyou,

No need to apply Z1 before every coat of Z2. I put several coats of Z2 on before applying another coat of Z1.

I'm not sure anymore but isn't Z-1 the "polish-lok"? Supposedly to "prep" the paint for the rest of the Zaino products? I assumed you only used it when you were starting the Zaino process from scratch.

Here is the reply I received from Zaino:

Z-1 is to be applied twice a year on an everyday car and once a year on
a show car. Also, please reapply Z-1 after every ten coats of Zaino
polish(Z-2 Or Z-5 or both). Z-1 will never remove Zaino. It will tighten up and
strengthen the polish
system and increase the gloss.
