Claybar Question

I was wondering if it is normal when claying to pull up some paint coloration?

I've been using clay for for about 4 years with mainly the megs kit. The bars they have are a white type of color and my old truck was white so I never noticed if the bar was pulling out a bit of the color or not. My new truck is blue and when I started to clay it my clay turned a blue color on the first small section.

Seriously doubt it pulled up any clear or anything so I was thinking maybe factory overspray? Almost certain this is first time it has been clayed.

How old is your truck? The only way Clay will change color is if the vehicle was painted with single stage paint. I believe that 91 or 92 was the last year for single stage paint on Ford trucks.

Truck is a 2012. Certainly shouldn't be single stage! Strange though.

Anyone ever seen this? I'm hoping its factory overspray as the paint looks ok. If not then I need to take it to the dealer and ask them.

Run over the spot with some cleaner wax .. if it doesn't pul up color, then it was overspray or some other dealer installed contaminant. .. if it does pull up color, then you will need to look at it further.

Simple question .. What color is the clay lube you are using?

The lube is Mothers and it's a white color. The bar it self is also white. The color is definitely blue without a doubt.
