Painting over Chrome?

Painting over Chrome?
Hey guys, Want to get rid of the few chrome accents on the XLT. I have Chrome around the grill, and on the front and rear bumber. Im not a Chrome person and always wanted to have a blacked out truck. Since they're are few Chrome pieces i fell it might be possible to get this done. I'm thinking of taking it to a body shop and have them paint the pieces black, now i dont know if they can match the Black on the truck or can just get it as close as possible. Something to ask when i get there. Wondering if anyone here has done this, i think some have ive seen pics of XLT's on here black out. Which i dont think Ford does from what i know. But any ideas or Experiance with this yall have would be great.

Don't know your thoughts on vehicle wrap is.
I already did my grille surround, and my bumpers are next using flat black 3M wrap. It is a 5 year on the 3M product ( outside in the weather year round ), but it is something you can do yourself.
Patching a section from damage might be the same or more complex compared to a painted bumper. You would need to watch the videos on splicing sections together, but it is not bad at all.
The next is the color if you are going gloss black or satin black or flat. It might not be an exact match to your truck. Was not an issue on mine, I am going flat against Dark stone.
Good part, no waxing. I put OptiSeal on mine every few months, and leave it be. OptiSeal did not change the look of it

Just something to think as an option to painting. Also if you get sick of it, peels right off without damage to the chrome ( or paint for what it is intended for ).

Just did the wheels on a tracker I have and its so easy. Badges and front grill are next.
