Removing Scratches from satin chrome...
I have never really looked closley at the new tailgates but..........
they may very well be clear-coated, if they are it would be best to remove the CC 1st. If it is not, then I would recommend using a #0000 steel wool pad (assuming the scratches are not gouges but more surface type....rubbing in the direction of the grain...you will also have to rub down the entire panel to "match" the end result, then use a polish with the steel wool pad, repeating the process to restore the shine. If it is deep (scratches), then you are likely going to have to wet sand, starting with 400 grit & finishing with 800....use a sanding block....DO NOT USE YOUR BARE HAND because it will have uneven pressure and well, it will be a mess, then finish wih a steel wool pad & polish.
