Waxing a Brand New XLT

How long do we have to wait after taking delivery of our brand new truck to wax it?

We are planning a long trip and I'm sure lots of bugs will be sticking to the front.

Thanks

Dog Lady

Go pick u up a meguiars clay bsr kit from walmart. After u dry the truck after washing, u basically go over the whole truck with a piece of clay and quick detailer. It removes contamintes from paint that washing doesnt get from the friction from the clay. Makes paint soooo smooth

If you will be doing everything by hand, get the clay bar kit and a bottle of Meguiars NXT 2.0 synthetic wax, and pick up a package of good microfiber towels.

Wash the vehicle with a quality car wash soap such as Meguiars Gold Class and a lambswool mitt. Do it in the shade, and drying it is not required. Break the clay bar in half and knead it, then squash it out flat. Use it along with the quick detailer and do approximately 2x2 foot sections, wiping it with a microfiber. Reknead and flatten the clay before doing another section. If you drop the clay on the ground, throw it away.

When done, use the quick detailer and a clean microfiber to wipe down the whole vehicle. Then apply the NXT with the provided foam applicator, applying it VERY THIN and rubbing it in a bit. Do the whole vehicle, then go back following the same panel sequence to wipe the residue off with a clean microfiber.
