Question Wizards Products?

A friend uses Wizards Shine Master and Mist and Shine on a Cobra that he takes to shows and he thinks this stuff is great. Looking for anyone else with first hand experience with these products. My new F150 should be here before the end of the month and want to get her started with a good finish. I am not really interested in doing any type of professional level detailing - everything will be hand applied - just want something that is easy to use and will keep the truck looking good and protect the finish. Any and all input appreciated.

A "mist and shine" product sounds like it's more just a quick detailer than anything else. You would be best off using a product that will protect for more than a few days.

In your case, I'd probably claybar the truck then wax it with something like Meguiars NXT 2.0 or Ultimate Liquid Wax - then if you want to boost the protection, use something like Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax (spray) after each wash.

First off make sure you tell the dealer not to detail the truck. The dealer will ruin your finish and not even realize they are doing it. I have heard many stories about people taking delivery on their new truck and having swirls from hell in the paints finish.

Second off I agree with glc. Megs has some great products to maintain that perfect finish. When you get your new truck home I would do this.....

Wash
Meguiars Clay Kit (perfect to get that rail dust off)
Ultimate Polish
Ultimate Wax or NXT 2.0 (2 coats of either wax)
Maintain with Ultimate Quick Wax (apply after each wash)

This is all assuming that you tell the dealer not to touch your truck. If they detail your truck you will most likely have to use a swirl remover after the claying process. Megs Ultimate Compound is a good product for correcting paint.

I would also invest in a dual action polisher. The DA polisher is not for the "heavy duty professional" and is very user friendly for novice detailers. It beats working by hand and you will have amazing results?

Good luck and congrats on the new F150

I agree with bansheerider...do NOT let the dealer "clean" you new vehicle.

I might would suggest Zaino Products
Z-18 ClayBar it's a very fine clay
Z-2 PRO Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finishes It's an excellent paint sealant!
ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator Additive because I want to do three coats in one afternoon.
and Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray to use for maintenance and a Quick Detailer.

Wash it carefully with the Two Bucket Method and use the BEST quality microfiber towels you can buy.
Stay away from Walmart/Auto Parts store cheap microfiber towels. They can scratch your paint!

I haven't used any Wizard products. I have seen them for sale at a local sporting good store.
For some reason I didn't put a lot of faith in a product that had shelf space between fishing lures and shotguns.
