Filter system

Been a long time since I've posted in here. Bought a Tuxedo Black super crew a few weeks ago. Washed it for the first time a few days ago. After drying it and watching all the drips run down the side I tackled them with a detailer. Some of the drips were 'normal', but others were white. The last truck and the Mustang we have both had hard spots on them. I searched around a bit for water filters. Saw RockPicks review of the SpotFree. Nice, but $400 is not going to get the stamp of approval from the wife. I came across this one and wondered if anyone had any thoughts on it.

Had to do a search on RP's ID and reverse sort.

I think this is the site that I got the 2 filter setup for dad at

http://www.purewaterproducts.com/gardenhosefilters.htm

I can't find any of the order info when I took a look in my email.

I can say I am 70% sure this is the place RP was talking about, and I got the setup for dad to hook up inline with the pressure washer.

There is another one towards the end of another thread I found

https://www.f150online.com/forums/ca...r-filter-1.htm

This is just what I recall from some time back ( ~ 6 or 7 years ago ).

Might be wroth a check, this is where RP started out at.

just a couple of FYI's......

If you have a garden watering wand, they actualy IMHO rinse the vehicle best of all soap residue...alsmost like a flooding action so there is no soap bubble generation...which could be a part of the white residue.

The other option that I use, is after the initial wipedown, i use a air compressor hose on all the "cracks" to blow the residual water out, then I usually have no 2nd day water drips.

SSCULLY, the second link you pasted didn't work for me, but it did lead me to search "garden" and I found this:

https://www.f150online.com/forums/ca...r-filters.html

Some like it, others want more. Since I have some paypal cash leftover from parts sales, why not.

beechkid, I usually take the nozzle off and let the water sheet off as much as possible. This was the 1st time I washed this truck so I didn't break out the leaf blower, wanted to see where all my runs would be coming from. Seems like the door sills, the door handles, the mirrors, taillights, tailgate handle, and emblem all drip. Still need to hit it with clay, polish, etc...and keep an eye on a 10 month old crawler.

Not too sure what happened with that URL. It does not convert to a thread title, so I botched something with the copy -> paste

Searched on the title of the thread :

I went ahead and ordered the deluxe system from Autogeek. Should of waited a day for the free shipping, but that's just how it goes. Anyway, I finally got a chance to get it hooked up. If you plan to get this kit, check the hose clamps and fittings before turning on the water. Couple of the screws were just a touch loose. I cut down the other hose so I could mount the canisters aclose as possible. The connecters are about 3" apart. Toss in the filters and get to washing the Mustang.

I use Duragloss 902 soap, it sudded up good as usual. The 2nd bucket of clean water was very clear and lacked the chlorine smell we have. Wash it up and rinse it off. Here's the weird part...drying it seemed to be 10x easier than previously. I don't know if that's in my head or not.

Washing the truck in the morning, if that thing dries easier I'll be very happy. Time will tell if it was worth it as far as water spots go.

No the drying part is about right. Dad noticed that.

The filters were due to him being on well water. The hose bibs are no softened ( kills grass and uses all the soft water ).
