Cleaning plastic trim

Not a F150 but still a Ford. I am the owner of a 2012 Mustang convertible and need some advice. The car is ingot silver and has a black hard plastic trim strip which runs under the doors from behind the front wheels to the rear wheels. After washing the car (including the plastic strip) the trim piece still looks dirty and dingy. What can I do to improve the appearance of this strip? Also, this is my first car with leather seats and I need to know the best product to use to keep them nice looking and conditioned so they won't crack.

Thanks
Kenny

What did you use to clean the strip ?
- Normal Soap or an APC ( All Purpose Cleaner ) ?

Is it actually dirty looking, or is it a milky white from sun or getting polish / wax on it ?

Here is a good thread to use to compare what you might be seeing.

With it being new, I could guess the dealer monkey with a rotary got carried away.

It is actually dirty looking - I asked the dealer not to do anything to the car except clean the windows and rinse off but they did a crappy hand wash. I washed the car cith a leading name car wash buty the trim along the bottom didn't look clean so I washed the trim agaon. After that it still is not balck and "finished" looking.

I tried Mothers Back to Black on about 36" but still not the best look

Try Trim Shine by Stoner. I found out about it on a detailing forum. 4.95 for a 12
ounce can from Summit Racing. Good stuff. Tried it for the first time today.
It's a lot better than some of the higher priced products that Poorboys and Bondo has.

If it's as good as other Stoner products then it must work well. I will check Advance and Auto Zone.

I'm a big fan of Black Trim Restore Treatment for making trim look black, shiny and new looking.

You may first try cleaning it with IPA to (hopefully) remove any left over polish staining residue.

As far a leather I'm a big fan on Zaino Z-9 Leather Soft Spray Cleaner and Z-10 Leather in a Bottle

Another good brand for leather is Connolly Leather Care Cleaner and Connolly Hide Food Leather Conditioner.

If you do try the Black Wow, it's essential that you use a VERY TINY amount and rub it in well.

Adam's In & Out spray. I believe this will fix it. I'm waiting to try some that I bought yesterday.

Autogeek recommends DP Cleanse-All Exterior Cleaner to clean before using Black Wow.
