Rust Fighter/Inhibiter

Guys,
I need some advice regarding rust:
It's not on any body parts (thank goodness), but on the clips that hold the aftermarket flares I installed a few months ago. The clips are painted black but each one of them is showing signs of rust collecting on them. Short of replacing them, what is a good product to protect them? I'd rather not remove them and would like to treat them in place...

Any ideas?

thanks!

Yep, think I am going this route. I was thinking about using a small brush to coat each of the clips. If needed, I will remove those things but there are a LOT of them so treating them in place would make life so much easier.
