Are you sure that they are chrome? Are you sure that they aren't coated?

Sonax wheel cleaner is safe for all types of wheels... if they are in fact just chrome... Mothers Chrome polish or Meguiars Chrome polish should work well. You don't want to over polish non coated chrome wheels because the chrome is uneven and thin in spots

I use Eagle One A2Z Tire & Wheel Cleaner on my stock chrome clad rims. You can get it on sale for about $3.50 or $4.00.

Like Truckguy24 alluded to, Mothers makes great wheel/metal products. And also like he said, no need to over-do it. Chrome is only gonna get but so shiny. when it's done, it's done. Maintain it like you would any other painted surface...wash with a good sudsy soap and seal/wax like you would your paint. Use your favorite product and it will give you excellent results.

Every other wash I use the Meguiars Chrome Rim cleaner. I don't use a polish on it since they're too shiney as they are.

Case in point after using the Megs Chrome cleaner.

To clean, regular wash, but to get rid of anything else like water spots, I use window cleaner. Works very nice, with a microfiber cloth. Polish? Don't usually do that but products as mentioned will do fine.

I don't know why people like using glass cleaner on chrome??? Your wheels are exposed to the same elements, and even harsher conditions than your paint. Chrome (or any) wheels should be treated just like you would any other painted surface. Would you use glass cleaner on your paint? Nope...most likely not. Why? Because the most important reason is it will strip any protection layers you may have on there. Does it shine? Yea...it does OK, but it's temporary and that's not what it's designed for.

There's too many great products out there designed for this job to use glass cleaner on expensive wheels. Beyond the normal washing and waxing, use a good quick detailer for the touch ups and shiny jobs. It's built for that.
