Repainted Door Woes

Today I picked up a 7424xp, and used it (along with some Lake County Pads and some Meguiars Ultimate Compound, Swirl X, and Ultimate polish I had laying around) to do my first ever true detail of my 2005 F150. Overall it came out well, except, I was hoping that polishing up the paint would help the door I had painted last month blend in better. However, this was certainly not the case. The door sticks out like a sore thumb.

I know that the OEM paint is 6 years older, but I have had other paint work done on this truck before that matched much better. I've attached some pictures below...what do you all think? Is there any way to make this blend in better? Should the body shop have done something differently? Is it perhaps the wrong shade of black?

The steps I followed on the panels around the door are as follows (I did not apply any polish to the newly painted door).
  • Megs UC (yellow pad, speed 6)
  • Megs Ultimate Polish (Level 5, Orange Pad)
  • Megs Ultimate Polish (Level 3, white pad)
  • NXT

I'm a little frustrated with this whole ordeal. I originally had the door painted on 6/6, but the shop did a lousy job on the buffing/wet sanding, and I wasn't able to get it re-sanded and buffed until this past Thursday. Is it possible the paint will lighten more, as time passes following that wet sanding? Notice in the pictures below how the newly painted (rear) door is much richer and deeper.

I'm no expert by any means, so please don't flame me. I'm just looking for some input in making my truck look as good possible.

Thanks,
Brian

It looks like it matches the bed but not the front door and front fender. Where on the truck has it previously had body work? Also, have you tried contacting the place that did the work on the rear door to see if they will repaint it to match better?

I've not had a chance to contact the shop, but plan on doing so tomorrow morning. The previous body work was done over the winter to replace rusted cab corners on each side. I've only owned the truck since 2010, and am unsure if work was done prior to me purchasing the vehicle.

EDIT: The more I look at it, the more I am starting to think that the front passenger door is actually the outlier here. It may be that the shadowing in one of the pictures makes the bed look like a closer match for the rear door, but I'm not really sure.

You can try a black wax on the front pass door to see if that will darken it some to match the rear door. I've never tried colored waxes so I don't know if they work.
