Rough Paint

Hey guys.

Going to a car show here this weekend and was wondering. My paint on my truck is rough to the touch. Im thinking its some light overspray on the paint. But ive applied a few products that should have had no problem removing it. Problem is.. Its still rough.

What would you guys reccomend on a fix for this. Dont really wanna use a buffer since i have no experience with it and could mess something up in a hurry. Is there an alternate method i could choose?

Also another question off topic. Anyone make a "kit" or product that would be easy to take with to car shows? Like a duffle bag and cleaners and possibly water. Easy to carry type thing. Bringing a box full of bottles and towles is kinda hard to hide at a show.

Auto Detailing Solutions has different kits from Meguiar's that includes a bag. Also check with Auto Geek, they have a lot of great products. Both good companies to purchase from.

To answer you first question, try a Meguiars Clay Bar Kit. Follow it up with Meguiars Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and Wax. Meguiars makes a kit that can be purchased from Walmart for under $23.00 that will take care of your needs in one day or less. The easiest method to correct paint is with the use of DA polisher.

This can be found at Walmart for around $23.00

Another great product (kit) from Meguir's.

Ya, I'd try the clay first, then see where that puts you. After claying, try a pre wax cleaner, then whatever wax you like. This should do it if it's like my Galaxie's paint was. For paint as nice as that, getting a DA polisher is a good investment and almost idiot proof (very forgiving) to use. Watch a few youtube vids on how to and you'll get the trick.

x3 on the clay. I detailed mine recently for the first time and the roughness disappeared after a claying and megs products with a PC 7424xp ans uber pads. I was astonished at how easy it was and how good it looked.
