Question for our Detailing Gurus.

I got my boat all nicely cleaned, clay bard, full interior clean/detail, ect.

Got to polishing with some megs. boat polish and Lake Country white pads. The reason for that was I thought the swirl marks were not that bad. I went at it with my flex and all I did was restore a deeper color, still a lot of deeper swirls.

Question, can car polish be used on boats? I have some harder cutting car polish with me but don't really want to order harder cutting boat polish ($$$).

ps, any of you guys that want to detail a boat. Figure out how long it will take you and multiply that by 4.

A test spot will tell you if the polish you have will work or not. You can decide from there.

I know that part, but I am wondering is it ok to use car polish on a gel coat...

Yes, it's just that you have to use a high-cut polish since the gelcoat is much "harder" than car paint.

M105, Optimum Hyper Compound...things like that.
