steveo,
This discussion is as old as water itself! But there are two types of "spots". The first is the result of deposits left on the surface of your paint, the second is the result of something etching (removing) the surface of your paint (clearcoat). Go inspect your paint with a magnifying glass to see which it is. If they are deposits, then you should be able to clean or rub them out eventually. If they are the result of etching, then it will be more difficult if not impossible to REMOVE them as they are an artifact of the paint.

water spots can be removed
etching in the paint can be removed by wet sanding the very top surface of the paint. I recommend having a pro do this. useing your fingers on the sand paper will result in a uneven surface, its recommended to use the palm of your hand. I dont do it my self, as a mater of fact I have a 2000 Harley Davidson F-150 with alot of etching on the hood and I do not intend to on removing it for some time now. (also have web cracking in the channel on the roof and would rather leave the it there then have any shop repaint my truck, I would rather take the hit on resale then have the truck repainted)

Good tips for removing water spots.
However, if the spots have etched the clearcoat, then you need to seek professional assistance.

Well I guess that I just had some surface contamination. I tried this wax called "the wax shop wax" and it took the spots right out/off. I use zaino but this stuff seemed to do a better job in a quarter of the time. Thanks for the help -steve
