Rust spots in white paint.
Okay, I've read the threads about the rail dust causing rust spots in the paint but, does anyone here recommend a product that will prevent the rust spots from coming back besides repainting the whole truck?? I use a product called Dri-Wash that is a cleaner and polisher and it works really well at keeping the paint nice but, the spots keep coming back. Any help is appreciated. Also, my truck is out of warranty. Thanks. Bugman.
Bugman.
They're not actually "rust" spots, they're just particles of rail dust (or other contaminants) that partially embbed themselves into the paint.
The only real way to prevent it is to keep your truck in a garage (or move to the country), you'll get them anywhere there's industry.
Detailer's clay bars are good at removing most of the spots although on white there'll always be some tiny one's left. Other than that keep it waxed and buy a cover for it.
