Not exactly sure what the clay bar is made of, but it is like a piece of hard Playdoh and when used with a lubricant, it safely removes contaminants like industrial fallout, acid rain, tree sap, even paint overspray from your vehicles finish.

Mothers, Mequiar's, Clay Magic, and Zaino are some of the brands I have seen. All the above but Zaino can be found at most auto supply stores. Zaino can only be gotten through a distributor or mail order.

After using the clay bar, you should at least use a wax to reseal the finish as the clay bar strips down to the base finish, clear coat or paint depending on your vehicle.

An easy to use product that will produce great results IMO.

I just used one for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It worked great. I highly recommend it. Mine was by Mothers BTW.

Question

Just wondering if this clay bar a one time use and throw it away? Or can it be used over? I think I seen one at the store - it was yellow and little smaller than a bar of soap?

The bar you saw in the store is to be flattened out to maximize its surface area. As it cleans, it will turn black from the dirt and contaminants. You fold the flattened clay over and re-flatten as needed to provide a clean clay surface. I think most products say you should be able to do three cars with each bar but am not sure about that. It all depends on how dirty your finish is.

I save the used bars to do surfaces like glass or other surfaces that do not require a perfect bar.
